Celtic Accept Bid for Tom Rogic
After a couple of weeks of speculation, Celtic have confirmed they've officially accepted a bid for Tom Rogic.
It looks like the 27 year-old Australian will now leave the club after 7 seasons at Celtic Park. The identity of the club remains unclear at the moment but he has been linked with a move to Qatar.
The Aussie still has just under 3 years left to run on his contract so the rumoured fee of around £4m may seem on the low side for some supporters.
Rogic's game time in the past two seasons has been very limited due to injury and fitness issues, which means we are almost accustomed to life without him in the squad already. However, that doesn't soften the blow of losing a real fans' favourite who has played such a massive role in our domestic dominance over the last 4 years.
In contrast to his limited role in the last two seasons, the two seasons prior to that were peak Tom Rogic. 2016/17 and 2017/18 saw him produce a number of outstanding moments from last minute winners to derby day screamers.
Despite all of his match-winning performances and long-range pearlers, he will be remembered for one moment above all - the last-minute winner against Aberdeen to secure an invincible treble in May 2017.
With David Turnbull already in the door at Celtic Park after joining from Motherwell on Thursday, many believe Rogic's replacement has already arrived.
There is no doubt Rogic will be fondly remembered as a modern day Celtic hero and his name is written in our history for ever more.
Thank you for the memories, Tom!
